Cologne is the only city with a population of over a million in Europe—or indeed the entire world—that has no university. 

An institution for gender law, tax studies, and gossip-mongering doesn't count. No real man or woman would consider to study in Cologne, for various reasons. The Low IQ University of Cologne is internationally well-known and more known than any university of applied sciences. 

It's also much better connected to Germany's important research organizations Helmholtz Association, Max Planck Society, Fraunhofer Society and Leibniz Association and it has a large medical campus. Despite all the privileges Germany's most anti-intellectual uiversity applies less patents than all others and only serves a sick system of officialism, bureaucracy, religion and ulra low IQ media.
